Defining the Problem

Mergen is an AI-Powered college application platform that helps users apply to higher education. The task is to design a home site that allows future users to sign up for the product pre-launch.

Defining the Users

The users will be ones who plan on using the product once it is launched, and would like to sign up to recieve information early.

User Flow

As design lead, I was tasked with researching potential users and how they might navigate similar sites used for similar products. Once conducting the research, I began to diagram possible user flows and navigation paths across the site.

Wireframing and Prototyping

While collaborating with the products software engineers and product managers, I led the

Color and Type Hierarchy

Creating a consistent typeface and color hierarchy between pages to match the current brand and the aesthetics of the product itself.

Interactions

Designing button interactions such as a 3D hover and press affect, and a confetti animation upon completing sign up.

Continuation into final site

Utilizing the basic design principles of the pre-launch site to design the experience of the post-launch informational site.

Conclusions

During my time at Mergen, I learned the importance of accessability and the enhancement of these basic usabilities through animations and interactive elements. As the lead of the deign for the pre-launch page, I collaborated with the product manager and engineers to deliver the best user experience for users to seamlessly flow into the product post-launch.
